Yellena James surprised everyone when she showed up with a 95″ x 52″ acrylic on canvas painting to San Francisco for her most recent exhibition Biosynthesis. We’ve joked that this piece gave her carpal tunnel syndrome, but the truth is that her dedication and attention to detail at this scale is a real step up in her artistic career. If you’ve come into the gallery this month you know the extent of the piece and the sheer labor that goes into her work.
